This is a famous traditional fabric of African origin.

The term "bogolan" means "originating from the earth" or "from the earth". Bogolan originates from Bélédougou, a region in central Mali.

This region is renowned for its cultural and historical heritage. The bogolan, although it is of Malian origin, has also existed for decades in many other African countries such as Senegal and Guinea.

This fabric, made in an artisanal way, is characterized by its black color resulting from a chemical reaction between the tannin present in the plants and the mud.

This fabric is used both in fashion and decoration. It is also Chris Seydou, a famous Malian designer who contributed a lot to its modernization in the 1980s and 1990s.

It is possible to wash it in cold water without risk, but dry cleaning remains the safest process which allows the colors to be preserved for as long as possible. During the first cleanings, there may be a slight discoloration, regardless of the technique used.
